About Christ!

He is my Savior, my Redeemer, my Deliverer, my Defender. He is. Let me tell you how you can get to know Him.

Following Christ was and still is the best thing I’ve ever done. He is the reason for my being. When no one else is around, he’s always there to comfort and bring me peace in the midst of trials.

The fact is, you were created by a loving God. Psalms 139:13-16 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb…you watched me as I was being formed…Everyday if my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. God has not been absent but has been drawing you to himself.

God wants to have a personal relationship with you. John 17:3 says, And this is the way to have eternal life-to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. God is a person, your Creator, who created you to be in a relationship with him. Why? Because…

God loves you. John 3:16 For God loves the world so much that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. You can turn your life over to God’s control because he loves you and wants the very best for you.

We all have sinned. Our sin keeps us from having a personal relationship with God. Sin means not understanding or even caring about what is “right.” You defy God when you know what is right and then refuse to do it. Roman’s 3:23. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of Gods glorious standards. James 4:17. Remember it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. 1 John 3:4 Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.

Only through Jesus Christ can you have a personal relationship with God. Jesus came as a human being, to live on earth so that we could understand what God is like.

Why Jesus Christ? John 14:6. Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the father except through me.” 1 Peter 3:18. Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned but died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death but he was raised to life in the Spirit.

Jesus died to take the penalty our sins deserved. In essence, he took our punishment so that we wouldnt have to! Now, because of Jesus the way is prepared for us to be able to have a personal relationship with a holy God. You personally respond by trusting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

No one is too bad for God. You do not need to “clean-up” your act before coming to Christ. Remember Jesus died to take all that sin and to help you start anew. So, being good is not good enough, yet no one is too bad to be able to be forgiven. All people need to trust in Jesus to be saved.

Roman’s 10:9-10. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

You simply need to believe. That doesn’t mean that you don’t have any questions or that you understand everything. It simply means recognizing that you are indeed a sinner in the need of a savior. John 1:2. But to all who believed in him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

You can express your belief in Christ through prayer. Turn to God from your present way of living and then begin the adventure of the letting God direct your life! And the moment you ask, it’s done. Jesus has come in! Prayer is simply talking to God. He knows what a person means even if it is difficult to express. You may use your own words in prayer, or you can read the following prayer:

Dear God, I know that my sin has separated me from you. Thank you that Jesus Christ died in my place. I ask Jesus to forgive my sin and to come into my life. Please begin to direct my life. Thank you for giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

That’s it! Welcome to the family of God! You are now my sister or brother in Christ. I would love to hear from you, please post a comment or email me!

Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings.
